Final Year at Uni Beginning Project 'Children's Book Illustration'

I have decided for my Short Project up until Christmas, I will look into the age groups of Children's Book's and see what they learn though the ages, and how that is then effect the Illustrations throughout.

I have some favorite Children Book Illustrator's and Freelance Illustrator's that I admire and will use there work to inspire me though mine.

Here are my paintings that I did. Hope you like them.

This is the colorful tropical butter fly that I love. I just think that the bright colours and bold outline would stand out so much for the children to see and they love to see colour.

This is the frog. I chose not to do the typical green frog everyone see's in books, so I chose Orange/Red. something different, and again bright and colorful for the children to look at.

Fashion & Life Style within the Tattoo industry

A new project that I have been starting is to do with illustrating 'Fashion & Life Style' within any area I lie, so as I have always had something for tattoos, even tho I still haven't managed to design my self one yet, I was thinking about looking into how tattoos have now become more fashion base from how they were before and how it's now become more into our chosen life styles.

Looking into Trible designs I would like to Illustrate that type of fashion and Life Style first on a instillation piece or a massive Illustrations telling different things that become the meaning of what I thing of Trible tattoo designs are now.

Due to my research I have been doing so far, I have found some amazing people within the art industry.
Here area a couple of names and links to there work in Mosaic style:

Ed Chapman
some amazing work of his
www.chapmanmosaics.co.uk

Jason Mecier
For his style of using anything to create a mosaic piece
www.jasonmecier.com

Just a tester of what I was getting my self into :)

These are the drawing and photo I was doing my mosaic on :)

This is my Final outcome which is approx :120cm/80cm

This is my final outcome, which I'm not to pleased with to be honest, but The reason why it didn't work as well is because, I chose a to much detailed image to do, for a small place on my board and I couldn't get the detail within the images as the tiles when not small enough, but that was a  mistake which I chose not to do again, so then I made the next image lager to it, and made sure it didn't have the same problem.

From this, I know what I need to do for a better outcome, and I wouldn't mind doing it again, and seeing what else I can do with the mosaic :)

Feel Good Drinks - Campaign -YCN

I an near the end of creating a camping for the Feel Good Drinks company. They also have a blog too, you should check it out:

The reason why I choose this Brief from the others from the YCN Briefs (the link is below) is because it appealed to me most from what I read from the brief, it sounded fun with loads of colour and for me to be able to come up with ideas to work with almost instantly it stood out. They also asked for it to be unique, which gives me the chance to show how my work compare to others entering, also it sounded challenging which you need to progress in your work.
Here are some photos of my progress though my final Poster:

This above is the final thing, it's not the final photo for the outcome, i will have to get a more decent one of it when I get it back from marking.
The soft sutiule dabbing ink in the background gives that cloudy soft feeling to it, also it brings out all the detail on the Characters and the Title and Bottle

I used Ink and black permanent markers for this. I haven't used ink much before and though I should divot to whole image to it, and I have always loved using black bold design lines in my work, so I used permanent markers as I can use them with more control than with a paintbrush or ink pen.

Delusion of Grandeur

At the start on my second year at Uni, we have to ford a collaborative group mixed of Illustrators, Fine Artists and Photographer, which we did and we ford a group of 6.
All out names and subjects in our "Delusion of Grandeur" group was (also add there likes to there blogs):
Ashaan Jamal - Illustrator
Michelle Nyulassie - Photgrapher
Loran Bolton - Fine Artists
Sarah Marsh - Fine Artistes
Sarah Woodward - Illustrator
Me - Illustrator

We decided to chose 3 main children stories and create an alto ego of the main characters from the stories.

Alice in Wonderland
Alice is always following the Rabbit, and she's kinda always the good girl, so her alto ego would be someone to be on drugs, or drinking and doing the bed things she wouldn't think of doing.

"'I wounder if I have changed in the night.....Let me think was I the same when I woke up this morning?.....But if I'm not the same, the question is..... Who In The World Am I?"

Little Red Ridding Hood
She is the gird girl again that is going to help her old nan in her house deep into the forest, and ends up meeting the Wolf which would be her alto ego.

This is the one that I more focused on after the photo had been taken and touched up. I used Photoshop to adjust the colours slightly and to add all the fantasy swirls and the text with the disruption of 'Delusions of Grandeur' which describes the whole group that we are and the type of work that we have produced for the project.

Snow White
Snow White is again all nice, but the queen would be her alto ego, and the moral of our vertion of the storie is that her hreat bleantd for no one, it's all about her looks and her her her, no one else.

Photgraphy & Photoshop

Photography and Photoshop experiments
Birmingham City University
(2008-2009)

I chose to edit this to make it more digitally visual. I love that Lime green with the black, it really does look like a wow chemicals green. If you know what I mean.
I chose to keep this looking more like a photograph. I changed the Brightness/Contrast, Colour balance and added a colour filter too.

I had some previous photos that I had from a photo shot I took of a friend called 'Corey Bellwood', a great module. I just experimented with layers here and tried to add that abstract style to it.

One of the projects at uni was to chose a company out of the list we got given, Then I had to advertise it though photography and then editing on Photoshop after.
I chose the perfume called 'Stella In Two'.

I know this is the wrong way around, but it wont fit on that way.
This was one of my out-comes for my 'Sence of Place' project.
I went to Shell Island for a camping weekend, and while driving down there from Birmingham, we went though a lot of different places with different atmospheric, so I decided to take photos and see what I could capture, and I snapped this shot and edited it on photosshop, to give that green en-vie feel to it. I chose to do this as you may see in the middle to the right a little, you can see a person just standing there, and this makes it more spooky and mysterious.
